What fantasticbeasts.co.uk said about the movie: ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ takes us to a new era in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, decades before Harry Potter and half a world away.

There are growing dangers in the wizarding world of 1926 New York. Something mysterious is leaving a path of destruction in the streets, threatening to expose the wizarding community to the Second Salemers, a fanatical faction of No-Majs (American for Muggles) bent on eradicating them. (more…)

If you were a Marauder, which one would you be?

Which Hogwarts House would you be in ......
Slytherin: Most think that if you get into this house you will become evil, wicked and cruel but they are more than you think. They have good grades (OK, maybe not as good grades as Ravenclaw but still good), they are very hardworking, they put effort into everything and look after each other.
Gryffindor: Harry Potters house, maybe the most famous of them all. They have just passing grades as they prefer quidditch, love-playing quidditch and did I mention quidditch? They are the sportiest house and always are noble and kind. Also don’t upset Mrs. McGonagall, the head of Gryffindor, it may just be the last thing you do.
Hufflepuff: Everyone thinks ‘If your in Hufflepuff that means you’re a loser!’ but they are just different in there own way. They are very courageous with their ways of magic and never let a man down. One of them was the famous Cedric Diggory who said that Harry could have 1000 galleons which is about £3013.45 or $4809.76!
Ravenclaw: Ravenclaws are often shy pupils as they mostly stay in the background. With their top grades they are often future teachers or ministry workers. Even though they aren’t the sportiest they still try hard and power through the hardest of times and always get something in return.

David Walliams does it again with Midnight Gang!

The Midnight Gang By David Walliams

midnight-gangWhat the Publisher says about the book: Welcome to the Midnight Gang! Midnight is the time when all children are fast asleep, except of course for… the Midnight Gang. That is when their adventures are just beginning…

When Tom gets hit on the head by a cricket ball, he finds himself at Lord Funt Hospital, and is greeted by a terrifying-looking porter. Things go from bad to worse when he meets the wicked matron in charge of the children’s ward… But Tom is about to embark on the most thrilling journey of a lifetime!

The Midnight Gang tells an extraordinarily heartwarming and, of course, funny story of five children on a hospital ward – and on a quest for adventure! It is a story of friendship and magic – and of making dreams come true. Readers are set to be utterly spellbound by this heartfelt story that will bring magic to everyone’s Christmas.

What I Thought: It was a very different David Walliams book. It still had the creepy person they don’t trust, a long introduction and, of course, Raj and his so called deals! I love the way his books are illustrated by the imaginative Tony Ross. The book itself was a good read but is not one of my favourites. Billionaire Boy is still one of my favourites. I loved how the Matron stole the chocolate off George and then ate it all for herself. The hard back edition still has the free hospital dinner which is always good fun (particularly if you cant taste anything!!). And the actual cover includes a different illustration than the dust jacket, the fun illustration of the Midnight gang chasing Nelly the 99 year old hanging for her life onto Helium balloons.

What to do in ‘The Making of Harry Potter’ WB Studio Tour

mail-wm

If you are going to the ‘The Making of Harry Potter’ Warner Brothers Studio Tour near London, my first suggestion would be to get there 1 or 2 hours early so you can get a few things done before you even start the tour plays get a good spot in line. Before you even enter the building you can see the chess pieces from ‘The Philosopher’s Stone’, which are always good to get a photo of. When you get inside you can see all the characters and even the Ford Anglia. I would recommend going to the gift shop first because after the tour, the lines are massive. (more…)

The ultimate match for the Rugby Championships!

Australia vs Argentina:
The ultimate match for the Rugby Championships!

argentinavsaustralia-wmThis weekend, I went to Twickenham Stadium to Watch Australia vs Argentina. It was a great match where Australia won 33-21. It was a brilliant match!

Pubs full of appreciation,

Homes full of joy,

The marching band stopped and

Waited until the time came to ploy.

Sitting in a high spot,

My belly full of pie,

Amazing views,

Full of muse,

We waited without a fuss.

When finally ready to start,

The huddle came apart,

And sang a song,

It didn’t take long,

For them to start to play.
